Cooking Instructions

1. 1 cup of Organic Mapillai Samba unpolished raw rice and rinse it 2–3 times under running water to remove any surface starch or impurities.
2. Soak the rinsed rice in clean water for 2–3 hours, as this helps soften the grains and ensures even cooking.
3. After soaking, drain the water and transfer the rice to a pot or pressure cooker.
4. Add 3 to 3.5 cups of water for every 1 cup of rice, adjusting to your preferred texture.
5. If using a pressure cooker, cook on medium heat for 4–5 whistles, then allow the pressure to release naturally.
6. If cooking in a pot, bring the water and rice to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 40–50 minutes or until the rice is tender and the water has been absorbed.
7. Let the rice rest covered for 5–10 minutes, then fluff gently with a fork before serving.
